my "mom" and your sister...
Who: Kristen and Silvia
When: Right after school
Where: Nikita's Their home
It'd been a weird few days if anyone had thought to ask Silvia -- which they hadn't. She hadn't been able to get to the park to see what all the fuss was about when it came to the berries, but she'd seen the news and she was glad she hadn't. It seemed like way too big a mess and she'd have just wanted to eat them. Then she'd have ended up all murderess or something. Not that I could kill who I live with. Okay, except for Kristen. Yeah right, Silvia wasn't going to kill one of her only friends. She was going to ask her a few questions about last night, though. She doubted Kristen knew anything that she didn't except... oh that was right! The little Australian had some sort of a psychic ability going on that led to all sorts of problems so maybe she would know!
Accepting the sandwich that Annie had made her as an after-school snack, Silvia took a large bite and hopped up to sit on the counter. The assistant -- was that what Annie was? An assistant? Or a glorified nanny who was there when Nikita was busy? -- tried to give her a look, but Silvia didn't move. If asked why then she'd be happy to tell her it was because she wasn't her mom and this wasn't her house either. Annie hadn't done anything to deserve Silvia having an attitude towards her. Okay, she hadn't done anything of her own free will, but she'd been the one sent by Nikita to put her in bed on the last full moon and it was hard for Silvia to just let that go. It'd stung and Silvia was at the right age where she could hold a grudge even if it didn't make a whole lot of sense.
"We're fine, Annie, you can go do whatever it is you're supposed to be." Silvia even managed to give a smile. "I know you don't want to baby-sit. I'm twelve, I know better. And Kristen's practically an adult!" The young were waited until the woman had left, catching the slight mutter about how this wasn't what she'd been contracted for, until she turned her attention to Kristen. Sometimes she really wished they were the same age so that they could be in class together where she could keep an eye on her. Every now and then Kristen came home looking all pale, dragging her feet and going straight to her room and Silvia knew she was crying. What she didn't know, because she wasn't the psychic here, was whether she was doing it because of what kids at school had said, because of what had happened with her sister or because this wasn't her house and that wasn't her room. There were way too many reasons and it was too complicated for her to think about. So she just wasn't going to do it. There were three adults in the house all the time, not counting those freaky men who smelled like guns, and they could take care of it.
"Soooo... when I got up this morning? Nikita's scent was coming from your sister's room. I mean, she wasn't like there, but she had been during the night. For awhile too if I could smell it."
