Since Troy had learned about Lux's true nature and the facts behind her attack, he'd understood why she'd pulled away, distanced herself from everyone. It didn't change that it had still hurt, but he could understand. He'd waited patiently for her to come back around, and when she did, he'd had to tell her how he felt. It had come out, finally, and then they'd ended up sleeping together. It wasn't quite how he'd seen things going, but he wasn't sorry for it. He loved Lux, and she had been patient with him. She had to see that he was in it for the long run, didn't she? He'd loved her for a long time. That he was secure enough in how he felt about Lux to show her this...new side of him, this side that he was still struggling to understand. Never in his life has he felt so angry as to even contemplate using his skills for...the offensive. He tried not to let the thought cross his face, but it did. And he wasn't sure he liked it. "I..I've never felt so..angry before.. I want to do this." He knew he'd already decided he would, it was just a matter of how and when. Smiling at Lux for a moment, Troy nodded. "Thank you," he murmured softly.
Troy's eyes blinked open as Lux cried out, pushing him away from her. The question of what was wrong flew to his lips but she started speaking first. Troy could only lay there, slightly agape as she rushed over the words. The whimper in her voice nearly broke his heart, as did the tears that were suddenly streaming down her face. He made a soft shushing sound, the thumbs of both hands coming up to brush at the tears on each cheek. The next thing she said took Troy quite by surprise though, and his brows lifted as he listened, hardly daring to hope that he'd heard her correctly. Lux loved him. Not just liked him, and called him her boyfriend. She loves me. Troy moved his hands so they were cupping Lux's cheeks, his eyes soft as he looked up at her. He held her gaze, willing her to calm, even when her words were like a plucked harp-string in his heart. "I'm right here, you're not going to lose me, Lux. You know I'm too stubborn for that," he said, letting a smile find his lips, hoping to coax one out of her, too. He paused for a minute, hoping the words would sink in. "I know. I know its scary, and its soon, and its not what you planned, but that's the best part about it, don't you see? You can't choose when or who, you just fall into it." With a softening look on his face, Troy brushed his thumbs against her cheeks again, brushing the tears away. "I'm right here for you, Lux. I'm right here to catch you." With a subtle nod to his head, Troy hoped he was helping. "You know I love you, too. And I'm not leaving. I won't leave you." He just lay there, her face in his hands, the light of hope and happiness in his eyes.
