She turned to smile at Lilith in thanks for appreciating their names. If she had had a voice with which to speak, she would have returned the compliment. As she looked over the other woman, she couldn’t help but feel the urge to hug her. Aetheria felt so connected to Lilith, though this was the first time they were meeting. Still, as she lifted her head up from Aurora’s shoulder, she didn’t loosen the grip she had on her, even as she followed Lilith to the front room. She wasn’t really sure what she was more upset over at the moment: the fact that her powers had not yet returned to her, or that she had been so wrapped up in her own sorrow that she had completely forgotten about Aurora’s injury. The painkillers made her uncertain, but she was very adamant that Aurora prop her leg up on something, even if it was the familiar who had offered. ‘You almost slipped ‘Rora and you’re still hurt. I’m so sorry I didn’t think…’ She was suddenly terrified that the foreign element inside of her had already begun to pull them apart. And I could be stuck like this. Once they reached the couch, Aetheria paid more attention to helping Aurora lower herself down onto it. Her arms went out to wrap around her twin’s waist and she laid her head back on her shoulder once again. The threat of tears still hung in the back of her eyes, but for the moment they had dried.
She shrugged her shoulders mournfully, signaling that she was just as clueless as Lilith about the whole matter of fixing things. Kiana suddenly flew off of her perch on Aetheria’s shoulder to land on the nearest surface near Lilith. ‘Aetheria hasn’t tried using her ability since she dumped water on Aurora and her mother during their lesson. Isn’t that right, Ae?’ The blonde shook her head yes, though it was obvious that she didn’t want to admit to ruining what was supposed to be an amazing day. ‘Maybe she could try it again now? See what happens?’ The familiar had taken the lead for her in figuring the situation out and, for that, she was once again thankful. Her arms withdrew from around Aurora, though they stopped for a reassuring squeeze of her hand before she reached for her flute. ‘Do you think it’s a good idea?’ She quickly signed the words out on her sister’s arm. What would happen if she tried to call a breeze and something bad happened? Would Air be angry at her? And if water appeared instead, would it not be angry with Lilith? Aetheria bit her lip to keep from crying again; she just wanted all of this to be over with.
