BJ looked down at the familiars, and could feel amusement coming off of Endellion. She had the weirdest familiar. The little fox liked creatures with a bit of bite to them. Jeez, that was a super big cat. Endy pranced in place a moment, acting like she might pounce, but BJ could recognize this behavior as simply playful. She didn't have a lot of creatures her own size to rough-house with. Unfortunately, BJ knew the cat might not recognize this. "Endy, you play nice or no more mani-pedis for a week," she warned. Because yes, Endy still insisted on having her nails painted regularly.
'I wasn't going to hurt him!' Endy whined. 'He's big and squishy! He could use a little exerc-' The statement cut off with a loud yip as BJ leaned over and snatched her up off the floor.
"Focus," she told her familiar. "You're supposed to be helpful."
'With demons and outfit coordination, not with fire and earth having a midlife crisis.'
BJ sighed and refocused her attention on Reggie, just in time to see that lick of flames. She was surprised with the surge of jealousy she felt. That was her fire. He was not supposed to have that! "None taken," she said, waving the comment away with her free hand. "Fire isn't really a healer, unless you're looking at the purification side of it, and I don't think that's what you're going for. You can tell when people need help, though." She sighed. "By the way, I called every handyman in the book trying to find you."
