Reggie was starting to wonder if he had just imagined the click on the other end of the line because he was so desperate for there to be an answer when he heard someone say something. And the voice had a vague familiarity to it. Not like someone that he talked to all the time, or even dealt with a few times a month, but familiar enough. Because it was that voice. He had heard her talking in his dreams and now he was hearing her over the phone. Only the fact that he was still in his apartment and did not want to disturb any of his neighbors - more than he already had in the past few days, that was - by letting out a triumphant whoop. Just getting hold of the girl did not fix anything, but she was the right girl and that was one step in the right direction.
"Yeah, I do, and they are. They're going to be visiting with a friend of mine after they get out of school since everything's so... upside down right now. They didn't get burned at all." Reggie would never forgive himself if he accidentally hurt Sarah or Bess. Pepe the cactus was an unfortunate casualty of hellish circumstances, but he could be replaced no matter what Bess said about how he was a special little green prickly guy. "Sarah wouldn't like being called a little girl since she's sixteen, but I won't tell her. And you've been having the dreams." How else would she know he had two girls? "Which means you know we need to fix this. My name's Reggie, by the way, if that helps anything." Now what was he supposed to do? Meet her at a coffee shop and poke her until his powers came back? Not happening, there was earth out there. Reggie was not setting foot back on the ground until he was back to normal. He would rather go on an airplane at that point in time and he hated heights.
