Jadyn had spent so long being absolutely miserable that all she wanted to do was to have a moment of happiness. Just a minute where she didn't have to fret or worry or cry. Showing up on Missy's doorstep was a huge risk, she knew that, but she had known the second she laid eyes on Missy again that she wasn't letting go of her. She had found her moment of happiness and she was going to make it last as long as she possibly could. And with Missy looking at her like that, she knew that Missy wanted the same thing. Missy stepped closer and Jadyn was aware of the lack of heat that normally washed over her when she was near Missy. As soon as the thought crossed her mind, she wondered if that would change everything. But considering that she had to stop and wonder told her that no, it didn't. Missy was just cold now and Jadyn had never been one to mind the cold. The elemental let her eyes slide closed as Missy cupped her chin. Those hands, hands she was well acquainted with, different but the same as they touched her face, caressed her lips. "I promise," She whispered, feeling as though her voice could burst this bubble that had formed around her and Missy. "I promise it a thousand times over." She squeezed Missy's hand, her eyes opening and a real smile curled her lips.
"Besides," A breathy laugh escaped her. "What kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn't?"
Her heart was pounding in her chest as she removed her hand from Missy's. While her other hand went to hold Missy's waist, the newly freed one reached forward to gently run the backs of her fingers along the blonde's cool cheek. Her fingers traveled along Missy's cheekbone and beyond, brushing through her blonde waves. Jadyn decided that she was tired of being a wreck; she finally had something stable in her life and that was Missy. And she was not some fling that could be discarded easily. She didn't know why she had latched onto Missy, but she wasn't letting her go. She rose to the balls of her feet, bringing her up to the blonde's level. She looked into Missy's eyes -- those beautiful and clear blue eyes, shining at her like an ocean that she just wanted to dive into -- and in one long, drawn out motion, gently pressed her lips against Missy's. She wanted to kiss her properly, not just a simple brush of skin on skin, and to do that, she needed to be closer. She tightened her grasp around Missy's waist, circling her arm around to pull her nearer. The other hand found purchase in Missy's hair, winding the soft tresses between her fingers. She had missed this, more than anything. Missed holding, touching, kissing Missy. And now she had it again.
