Bubbles knew all of the kid's books over the decades, she'd had them all read to her even though she was way above them on her reading scale. But adults wouldn't read her real books at bedtime so she settled for what they gave her. Alice in Wonderland was a pretty good one and she thought that this place was like that. Someone had tripped out on drugs and come down to turn the park into their dreams. Who could do it to the whole park? Earth elementals wouldn't mess with nature like this, demons wouldn't take the time, angels wouldn't make a tree that had berries that messed around with people's minds... could witches? Oooh, or the fae! Bubbles had heard that the fae had come back with the angels and they were all full of magic. Could they do something like this? She liked that idea because it meant the fae were around and she really wanted to meet one. Someone had told her they had pointy ears and she wanted to know if they broke off easily because they were all pointy.
"Huh? He curses your food?" Bubbles blinked, attention momentarily pulled from the berries and people who were tripping on them. Not even literally and she was pretty sure the berries did it. Drugged berries? Oh ho ho, someone's devious. "I think..." Bubbles frowned, a childish look of concentration on her face as she looked over at a teenage girl and bounced over to poke her. "Hey, what're you staring at?"
"The colors," she replied vapidly.
"What colors?"
"The ones dancing in the air. Oh! There's purple!"
Bubbles rolled her eyes and moved back next to Briony. "They're drugged," she declared confidently. "Berries did it. Real question is, what did it to the berries? It's not any magic I've ever seen." If the people around them had been sober they'd probably be worried that the curly blonde-haired girl was talking more like an adult than any of them. "Next question is what do we do with them." She grinned in a way that always made people shudder. "I want to feed them to some dogs. Maybe some kids. Ooohhh, maybe our class!"
