"One two skip a through, ninety-nine one huuuundred," Bubbles was singing under her breath as she walked through the park with Briony at her side. They'd heard about the glittering berries in the park and they'd decided to go. Didn't stop to ask whether or not they could either, because why should they? They were demons and Bubbles was older than any of those people who tried to tell her what to do. If she wanted to see glittering berries because she hadn't ever seen real ones in her entire life then she was damn well going to see glittering berries. And if she wanted then she'd take a good, solid handful of them and shove them right down her teacher's throat because she'd bothered her. She hoped they were poisonous to humans who couldn't heal themselves. "I can see a bunch of idiots," Bubbles chirped her response, skipping around a couple of people staring at their hands like they were magical things. Stupid people. Didn't humans remember they weren't supposed to lay there? They couldn't act surprised when someone like her came along and went stomp! on their hand with her still-shiny Mary Janes.
Grinning at Briony's outburst, Bubbles skipped a little further up the path and stopped when she caught sight of something. With all the gloom and mistyness and rain it was pretty easy to see something that glittered when it shouldn't. "Ooooh, they make me think of those berries they stick on the garlands at Christmas!" Her small hand went out to grab a handful and peel them off. Breaking the skin of one she held it up and sniffed. "Huh, smells good." Turning she offered the same berry out for Briony to sniff. "You know..." She motioned at the people around them, small face scrunched up in thought. "They're all acting abnormally stupid. Like really and look at their mouths." Most of them were smeared with a light juice like what had leaked out of the berry she broke. "Think they're eating the berries?" Her dark eyes glittered. "Maybe they're all poisoned!"
