trying to keep a view
WHO | Drina and Marco
WHERE | Drina's Place
WHEN | Evening
Several days had passed since she had last seen Marco. Well, that wasn't entirely true. She had seen him around, outside of the apartment complex and outside of the restaurant, but never really long enough to speak more than a few words. Drina had to remind herself that not seeing Marco was alright, that they were simply friends and she could go more than a day or two without spending time with him. Except she didn't really feel that way. Not having the chance to really talk to what was essentially her only friend made her feel unbearably alone. So she called him. At first she was afraid that he wouldn't answer, but when she finally heard his voice on the other end, she couldn't help but feel relieved. It was a different kind of relief than when she had called him upset; she was simply glad to know that he was just there on the other end of the line. "Hey," She felt a smile form as she spoke. "Are you doing anything tonight? I was thinking of making fajitas and I always make too many." Did she sound desperate? She certainly hoped not. She curled up on her favorite spot of the worn out sofa, the seams of her jeans pressing a pattern against her knees. Being alone was starting to be one of the last things that Drina wanted to do. She wasn't even sure why, but when she thought about spending time alone in her apartment or even at work, she didn't like it. She wanted to surround herself with friends -- she was starting to think about calling her mother or even Heath, both of which were totally impossible -- which left only Marco. She waited for his answer, hoping that he had no plans that would keep him away. |
