not going insane -- rational stays in touch
Who: Kajsa and Satu
Where: Niemi residence
When: After school
Blood in the brownies was a good trick that Satu was actually pretty proud of herself for. How many witches went ahead and mixed their magic with baking at the age of twelve without anyone recommending it to them? No, scratch that, Satu didn't want the answer. She wanted to be special in this and she'd probably give anyone who corrected her of this belief a poisoned cookie. And the best part about it? Yeah they had her blood in their system buuuuut magic didn't leave the same traces as poison. At least, it didn't according to what Satu knew. Also, Leif didn't count in this analysis of the rest of the world because he was her brother and the main reason she'd started exploring magic. That and the pull she'd felt towards it. She'd been born a witch, same as she had an elemental, and since Linnea had shared that they were demonic it'd only seemed appropriate that she find an outlet for that. Blood seemed more personal and fun than black, too, and she knew people who practiced it. Or 'person', but Leif had learned from their father so it practically counted as two.
Not that Satu counted her father as a person. Jokull was Jokull and his own entity. Even dead he still frightened her and Satu hated him for that. If she'd been able to bring herself to go to the cemetary then she'd have probably spit on his grave. Only she couldn't because even with him dead, as Linnea had assured her that he was one night after a terrifying nightmare when he'd finally taken her blood instead of Dagmar's, she was still half convinced he'd come back. Maybe that was why she was so angry about her mother being pregnant with yet another one of his children. Wasn't she enough? Between her, Dagmar and Leif -- the only demonic blooded's, she wasn't stupid -- Linnea had more than enough on her hands. She didn't need another reminder of Jokull. Satu was just helping by trying to find a way to fix the problem. Yes, she was helping get rid of more things tainted by Jokull. It wasn't because she was jealous.
'What are you doing?' Blastoise asked, poking his head out from his shell. The rain always made him a little sleepy for some reason.
"Thinking of making some cookies," Satu replied, tapping her pen against her notebook. She was supposed to be studying her geography, but instead she had a book full of notes from Leif. The handwriting obviously belonged to a child, probably younger than her for most of it, but it was still worlds more entertaining than her homework. Like right here was a recipe for cupcakes... ohhhh, that almost looked like the one that Linnea used! Except for some pretty noteworthy additions that Satu was positive hadn't ever been in the cupcakes she ate. "I can make these. Except cookies." The spell didn't look hard and how was she supposed to get better if she didn't try harder? Already she was moving to get the mixing bowl out from under the counter, not paying much mind to where the rest of her family was, setting it on the counter before moving to collect the rest of her supplies. She didn't need to be supervised for this -- it wasn't like any of the water elementals in the family were going to burn the house down. Seriously, that should've been the last thing any of them worried about. "Chocolate chip or peanut butter?" The young elemental asked aloud, looking towards her turtle.
