The main reason Tessa had learned jujitsu first, rather than going the tae kwon do route that Troy had, was because it was better suited to someone her size. It was all about using someone's weight and momentum against them, a bonus when Tessa knew she'd never match someone strength for strength. If she'd gotten Troy's height, then maybe, but she hadn't and she liked her body just the way it was, please and thank you. She couldn't tell if there was anything special or supernatural about Jackson, but in true Tessa fashion, she really couldn't give two shits either way.
Yes, fun was the proper word for it and no, she wouldn't take it back. She caught the almost smile, taking that as a good sign. "Yet being the key word there," she said, giggling a little. Tessa was proud of everything she'd done, and there was very little in her life that she'd take back or do differently. Albany was the only exception to that and she wasn't about to let her thoughts linger on that any longer than she had to.
She nodded, moving a few steps closer to him while still respecting his personal space. She didn't want to freak the guy out, after all, that wouldn't be very nice considering that they'd just met. "It's a demanding sport," she agreed, "but totally worth it, in my opinion. I've been training since I was in middle school. My parents thought it would be good to give me some structure and discipline." She snorted. "It kind of worked." Kind of. "Did you ever think about learning? Even just as like, picking up a few self defense moves kind of thing."
