One of the great things about Aetheria's dreams were that they always seemed to have a fun sort of feel to them. If she wasn't dreaming about going on adventures with cartoon characters, then more often then not, she would dream about happy memories with her family. Once in a blue moon, she might get an unpleasant dream about things that were best left forgotten, but the point was that she always was herself in the dream. Only last night was different. Aetheria wasn't herself. She was woman a few years older, with long dark hair. Nothing unusual happened in the dream, at least nothing that would be interesting to anyone else; all she did was sit down to dinner with her husband and three children. She was used to large family meals, but the sense of being married with children was something that she had never imagined before. It was different, but it was nice. Before the meal could finish, Aetheria slowly began to wake. Normally, the moment her eyes opened, she would already be distracted by the coming day's events -- especially on a day like today! -- but her mind was still lingering on the dream. There had been a very distinct feeling to the dream, like the kind you have when you spend all day in the ocean and your body still feels the waves once it's out of the water. Her eyes were not even fully open before she reached out to Aurora next to her, wrapping her arms around her sister and giving her a gentle morning hug. The normally affectionate elemental had been upping the ante as far as showing her twin how much she cared was concerned since her attack. She wished that she could say that she didn't blame herself for what happened to Aurora, but a part of her, the part that was tucked away with all the other bad things, felt like she could have prevented her sister from being hurt if only she had been there. "Morning 'Rora!" She whispered into the other woman's ear before pressing a quick kiss to her cheek and bouncing out of bed. Today was going to be a great day because they were going to be working on their priestess training. Working with her element and learning from her mother felt like a slice of home, which was nice, even if it made her want to go back to Greece. It wouldn't be long before she and Aurora reached Diana and Cheila's level, a thought which inspired another wave of excitement within her. Aetheria practically skipped over to the closet. She didn't put much thought into the shirt and skirt that she chose, other than the fact that the color and material made her thing of water and, for some reason, that was incredibly appealing today. Before moving over to their dresser to pick out her jewelry, she made sure to lay out an outfit for Aurora on the end of the bed so she wouldn't have to go to far once she woke up. The more awake she became, the more she began to feel like something was just a little off. The elemental had just reached for her flute and was about to call up a small gust of wind when Kiana flitted in through the open window and landed on the dresser in front of her. The chickadee bounced a little on the wooden surface, her voice coming out a bit more singsong than normal. 'Are you as excited as I am for today, Aetheria?' Of course the familiar already knew the answer to that question, but Aetheria still nodded her head enthusiastically in response. Turning away from Kiana, she returned her attention to Aurora who was still in bed. She hopped back onto the mattress, careful not to land on her sister. 'Wake up, sleepyhead.' Aetheria traced the words out on her Aurora's shoulder and hovered over her, waiting for the other woman to open her eyes. |
