As much as she wanted to hold on to the turmoil she'd been feeling in the past days, Halne found she was incapable of doing that in the face of a smile that beautiful. An answering tug pulled at her mouth as Halne watched Athena look at her and set the books down. It was nice that just speaking her name had the other woman brightening like that -- Vivianna used to brighten like that when I simply walked in a room. Stop thinking! Don't think about her. "I did not mean to interrupt, if you have things that you need to attend to." Though there was a note in her voice that said that Halne would much rather have Athena talking to her than going back to what she'd been doing. The vampire took a deep breath of air in, watching as Athena touched her hair. Even that one motion was graceful and she found it fascinating.
The light touch to her arm had Halne's eyes dropping to where Athena's fingers brushed her skin. The smile on her lips grew slightly as she looked back up into the woman's eyes. "I must agree, it is definitely a pleasure to see you again." Without thinking too much about it, Halne found that she'd moved to press her hand against Athena's on her arm, carefully and gently holding it there. At the mention that Athena had been thinking about contacting her, Halne's smile deepened again. "Is that so? I guess it's a lucky thing that I ran out of sheet music, then." Glancing around the library for a brief moment, Halne returned her gaze to Athena's face. "Would I be correct in assuming you work here?" Of all the places it might be soothing to work, the library was definitely one of them. "If so, perhaps you can assist me." Something in the way she said the last made it sound as though there was a little more than sheet music on Halne's mind, her voice warm.
