If you want to be with me, baby there's a price to pay Who: Athena and Halne Where: The library When: Late afternoon
On a Saturday afternoon, the library wasn't exactly the most hopping place to be, especially with all of the kids' story groups were done for the day. Athena didn't mind, since the downtime let her get to the piles of books left to be put back, and she didn't mind the busy work. It kept her mind from drifting to other subjects, like the fact that the guy in the corner kept checking her out when he thought she wasn't looking, and she was sure he actually thought he had a chance. The attention wasn't new for her, of course, but it didn't help that little urge in the back of her mind that said to take him out back, have her way with him, and then leave him for dead in the dumpster. But she couldn't. Not where she worked. It was just bad for business, no matter how much the douche might actually deserve it.
No, she'd rather think about Halne, the pretty vampire she'd met at Heme a little while back. Halne had seemed receptive to Athena's advances, this was true, and somewhere she was sure she still had her number tucked away, just in case. Athena had been drinking, yes, but she hadn't gotten that drunk, and she thought they'd both had a good time. Maybe she'd have to see what Halne was up to over the weekend. All work and no play made for a dull Athena, for sure, and though she still hadn't heard word from her sister, Cassandra would not want her to ignore her own needs, either.
Sometimes, she missed her sister more than she'd ever tell anyone.
Shaking her head, Athena went back to work, humming to herself as she did so. Of course, that just meant the guy was paying that much more attention to her, but she ignored him. Let him look if he wanted. Athena was otherwise preoccupied.
