It was terrifying how wrapped up she was in Daniel's power. Even when she was completely hung up on Joseph, there was still a place for her own thoughts inside of her head. Though they were easily molded, she still felt like she had a choice in the matter and her choice was to do whatever she thought would make Joseph happy. Now, she felt as though she couldn't even move without receiving expressed permission from Daniel, or maybe it was that she didn't want to do anything unless he gave her the okay to do so. Had Joseph walked in at that moment, she couldn't say for certain whether or not she would have been able to look away from Daniel. The one thing that she could count on was the fact that he would jerk her up and away from the situation, even if it was to punish her later. Then she would be safe, or at least her version of safe. But Joseph wasn't going to show up anytime soon. Where ever he was, he hadn't the slightest clue of what was happening to her right now. Daisy wasn't even aware of it herself.
For all the bad things that Daisy had done in her life, cheating had never been one of them. The act fell into a small category of things that she was absolutely incapable of -- at least when she was completely herself. If there was any virtue that she had in spades, it was loyalty, and she would rather die than betray someone whom she had given it to. Sure, she had flirted with more men than she could count, but it had never been sincere when she wasn't single and free to do so. The thought of sleeping with someone else was laughably out of the question -- only, Daisy wasn't laughing right now. His request made sense to her, just as it had made sense for her to come down into the basement and make him a sandwich. She had never been the type of girl to be hung up on sleeping with someone; that wasn't to say that it didn't mean something to her or that she didn't value herself, but she had had as many sexual partners as she had boyfriends, and did not have a shred of guilt over that fact. It seemed like such a small thing to ask for considering what he would be giving her in return. He would help her, and, if that wasn't enough to convince Daisy to agree, he said he needed her; she had never been very good at saying no to men when they claimed to need her. She had known that he must have been lonely. If Joseph would have been upset that she had made another man lunch, then there were no words for what he would feel about what she was considering. Hate was a good word to describe what Daisy would feel later, when she came to her senses, both for herself and Daniel. "That's really all you need?" She asked the question as though what he had asked for was something insignificant. Her hands released the hold they had on his and moved to the hand at her cheek. She didn't pull it away, but moved it so that she could press a kiss to his knuckles. "I can do that..." There was a slight ache in her stomach in protest that she didn't invest much thought in; it was just nerves and who wouldn't be nervous at the thought of being with someone like Daniel? Thoughts of Joseph, or the feeling the this was something she shouldn't be doing, were hazy, like memories from a dream that became less clear the more you tried to remember them. She brought his hand down before slowly leaning into the direction where Daniel was crouched in front of her. Her breath caught in her throat and her heart felt as though it were about to beat through her chest as she allowed her lips to brush against his. The kiss didn't linger; Daisy pulled back a little, searching his eyes for approval since her voice was unable to ask if what she was doing was okay.
