Were this any other place, with a normal pastor -- or at least one that wasn't a demon -- Daisy would have already bolted out of the back door and been well on her way home to Joseph, but there was nothing typical about this place or this man, and it was unfortunate that she hadn't the slightest clue to the contrary. The unease that she had felt before entering the church had now shifted to shame the more the pastor spoke to her. "No..." Her mother wasn't the best of women, but she had taught her children the difference between right and wrong. Daisy rocked her weight back and forth, from one foot to the other, trying not to think about the fact that Lily-Anne would more than likely have a heart attack if she knew what her daughter was doing right now -- had been doing for the past two years. She stopped that thought even before it had the chance to go on any farther. There was no part of her time with Joseph that she regretted, not a single bit of it, and she was firm in that thought. Or at least she had been until just now. Was she still? "It is a nice church, though. Doesn't seem like it needs any fixing." Even as she said it, Daisy didn't believe that it was the best of excuses. It sounded like something Joseph would say to give her peace of mind, which was typically all she needed. A part of her deeply wished that he was here -- she always felt so much more confident when he was around -- but there was another part of her that... well, she wasn't entirely sure what it was feeling. Daisy opened her mouth to argue before closing it, her lips forming the slightest pout as she nodded her head to say that yes, that was exactly what she had meant to do.
She stood still, waiting for some kind of response or expression from the pastor that would let her know that everything was okay. Times like these made it unfortunate for her that she had never had powers before and those that had been given to her after her accident were completely passive. Maybe if she had, there would have been a better chance that she could have defended herself from whatever came next. That was assuming that she would ever be able to realize that something was wrong in enough time to do something about it; so far, she wasn't doing so well. The man's smile made her relax, if only enough so that she didn't feel as on edge as before. Daisy sucked her lip back in-between her teeth and began to chew on it nervously. She had already told him that stealing from the church wasn't her idea, but was it true to say that Joseph made her do it? No, but then again, yes -- not that she had ever minded. If the pastor blinked, then he would have missed the slightest nod of her head. She wouldn't -- more like couldn't -- actually say the words. "But he didn't mean any harm by it either, I promise!" Daisy felt like there was a war going on inside of her with her normal loyalty to Joseph battling out against this new desire to confide in the pastor. Maybe this was what years of religious neglect had gotten her, it had only taken this situation to make her realize it. "D-Daisy." Her arms wrapped themselves tighter around her waist as she waited for something, anything that would give her a clue what to do next.
