Daniel just nodded, viewing it as perfectly reasonable that a little girl had decided to go down to see the Eurynomes demons after she had attended church. In his mind it was since he would have done the same if he had been a child and Briony was a demon. Normal, moral children wanted to go to the zoo or museum and children like Briony wanted to go watch demons feast on the flesh of those who had not been cleaned up in time. Reasonable. "An Excess named Persephone." Because yes that was the part that Daniel was zeroing in on. It was well and good that Briony was getting out and playing with the lower versions of themselves, but Daniel was far more interested in other demons that were coming to Scarlet Oak. "Very good choices, Briony, maybe one day you can have one instead of a dog. Then that Shepherd you know wouldn't be able to drive it mad." Demons were already at least half-mad if not more so. Yes that included him. All a person had to do was look at what he did for a living and they would see how right that was. "Possibly. Didn't you say Bubbles was a kid who wasn't a kid? Or you'll grow up and be the most terrifying Fear that's ever walked the mortal planes." Daniel was not sure if he wanted to see that. Mostly because this little Fear was enough to make him shiver and he did not want to think of the effect a - "You asked for that, you know." Directed towards Thunder who was pawing at the ground and acting like he had been terribly hurt.
'Stupid child-demon.' Thunder dug up a clod of dirt and tossed his head, muttering unpleasant things in Daniel's head that made the Dependence chuckle. 'No wonder she doesn't have a familiar of her own, she wouldn't know how to treat it.' With that, Thunder picked at the apple slices and chewed them down. But he stayed where he was. Thunder was not the sort of horse to just gallop off because a little girl had shocked him.
"And how'd she get away with that?" Daniel paused. "If she even did... maybe she tricked them. Next time you'll have to give them a nice drawing when they ask to see what you're taking and switch it out before you go in. It might work." Daniel was all for scarring people in hospitals. Those on their death beds were even more likely than the rest to listen to him and go along with it. Being given a drawing about suicide by an adorable little girl was exactly the sort of thing that would drive people to looking for a higher power. Or a really good psychiatrist. "How old is Airla? And they can't really 'help' us. We're too different and besides, why fix what isn't broken? Not a thing broken about you, Briony, make sure you don't forget that." He did have to laugh at that last part. Chisel a sister's arm off and then blame it on the father who knew a dark enough magic to be made to look bad in the public eye all too easily. "Good idea you have there. But make sure you use his chisel. People would ask questions if they thought it'd come from my toolbox and I hate questions. Although... with all the fear you're channeling into that house I'm surprised they're not all dead yet."
