Don't look back 'cause I don't even want to Who: Frankie and Joseph plus Bandit (NPC) Where: The park When: Around three
'You're showing off in the middle of the park.'
As Joseph balanced two flaming spheres above his left hand, the right busy with picking up the stick that he had accidentally dropped. Flames in and of themselves were a wonderful thing, but they could look so much cooler when you had something to center them on. There was just a certain something about a stick on fire... Joseph far preferred swords but people could get so terribly upset if you had a sword out in a park unless you were a licensed performer. Or in certain cities where it was common. Joseph loved those cities. Nothing beat rolling out into the street in whatever he felt like wearing and putting on a fire show that everyone would dismiss as being possible because he was really skilled with excellent materials. Second-best part was that as he did this Daisy would be out there slipping her fingers into people's pockets and purses until she managed to find enough money or cards to make the day worth it. Joseph would never have believed how easy it was to live without an actual job or savings account until he had been forced to do it by circumstances that he currently regarded as being completely out of his control. Joseph may not have had a home that was firmly his, which was fine since he did not really want one anymore, but he thought that he had a better life now than he ever had before. No job ties holding him down or even a wife and kid to keep him in place. Closest thing he had would be Daisy and Bandit and they would follow him wherever he went. Daisy because she was the most co-dependent, puppy-like person on the planet and Bandit because-
'Because I'm your familiar and there's nothing funnier than managing to piss you off.'
That would be why. Joseph's foot darted out and only just missed connecting with the raccoon as he skittered off to the side. One of Joseph's balls of flame dropped down onto the ground when his familiar snatched up his stick and made a chittering noise as he slipped under a bush. He would have been more than happy to let the fire spread until it reached the trees and watched the glorious resulting blaze, but a nearby boy started to cry and then everyone was staring so Joseph ignored the thieving little bastard and extinguished the flames with just a little effort. Being a fire elemental really came in handy when one liked to play with fire in public places. "What?" Joseph asked the little boy. He even crouched down so they were on a better level. A new flame danced to life right in front of him, whooshing up and only just missing his face. "Scared of a little fire, huh?" Another whoosh. "Better take your little self the hell away from here then before you get burned."
Suddenly the boy was yanked away and Joseph was left facing a pair of rather shapely legs. He whistled a moment before he rose to his feet. "What is wrong with you?!" The woman hissed, the boy pressed tightly against her leg while his small shoulders shook with sobs. "You're terrifying him!"
Joseph reached into his pocket slowly and pulled out a cigarette before he lit it with a flame that danced on the end of his finger. "Not my problem, is it?"
"You're the one doing it!"
"Last time I checked I didn't touch him. Could fix that though if you keep up your yammering." When her mouth opened, another whoosh of flame went up and the boy yanked away from her to run off, screaming. Joseph got what he expected was supposed to be a scathing look before she turned and followed after him. "Better run faster!" the fire elemental called as he took a drag off his cigarette. "If I can still see you, I can still light you up!"
