All your enemies smile when you fall Who: Tessa and Troy (plus familiars, NPC'd) Where: Troy's apartment When: Evening
You do realize you are being most ridiculous, yes? Inaki yawned from the passenger seat, stretching before climbing out of the car. I hardly think this is something that warrants running to your brother and crying about it.
Tessa rolled her eyes, tossing her bag over her shoulder as she closed the door behind the fox. "Apparently you missed the memo about me being a fire elemental, so yeah, this is warranted." Though she'd met up with Zhari a few days back, and 80's movie night had been awesome in her opinion, it had been too short. She'd thought she'd be okay in the wake of Graham leaving, because really, it wasn't like it was anything new. They'd just been fuck buddies and his leaving had nothing to do with her, he'd even told her as much. But a lonely Tessa made stupid decisions, and the last thing she needed was another one night stand. It wouldn't cheer her up, the attention was all too brief, and she wasn't going to make the same mistake again. At least, not for a while. At least the last time she'd met that guy, the one who did all the magic tricks. Lee, he'd said his name was. He was amusing.
No, Tessa needed companionship and a shoulder to cry on, and that's why she texted Troy. It wasn't like she didn't see her brother at the dojo all the time, but it was different when they were teaching and had their students to focus on. Tessa was great with distractions, but the moment she was alone, it all crept back up on her. It was get drunk in her brother's apartment or get drunk in a bar somewhere, and at least at Troy's she knew she wouldn't make any majorly bad decisions. No more so than normal, anyway. She'd been tempted to invite Naoki over, too, but she knew how he felt about drinking, and that he'd still want to go home and do whatever the fuck it was he did with his wife. If said wife even acknowledged Naoki existed, that was. Whatever, Tessa wasn't going to think about it, because she knew Naoki would not appreciate her getting upset on his behalf.
She just didn't want to be alone - was that so much to ask for?
Letting herself in through the back door, Tessa took the stairs up to Troy's apartment two by two. "Honey, I'm home," she called dryly as she let herself inside. She dropped her bag on the kitchen table and took out the bottle of vodka she'd picked up on the way over. "And I come with alcohol!" She paused, "Oh yeah, and a smart ass fox, he's here too."
