Dalila widened her eyes deliberately and pulled on what she knew to be an innocent expression. "I'm hurt that you'd think I tell you these things on purpose. Besides, I didn't tell you who so you're left without a face to beat in." Dalila shrugged. "Hey, they're my age and in the same grade as you most of the time sooo... not the kiddie end of the pool. But their reasons for that are varied and depends on the girl. I know I do it to see who cares and who gives no damn's about what I say." A lot of guys were amazingly good with overlooking things that were said about them so long as it was some sort of flattering if it meant that they might get somewhere later. Dalila would know, she could hear what they were thinking and it was usually very similar to what they were saying. She did laugh when he declared that girl to be a douche. "Think they'd be shocked that it's the supernatural students who think the assembly is the worst when they're probably trying to do this for us? Counselor isn't actually that bad, for what she does, I've seen her a few times." For various reasons that included occasionally freaking out for this or that reason or people suspecting her of being depressed, which she usually rolled her eyes at. They needed a manual on water elementals. "Shorter than policy dictates. Totally do not want the vice in my closet. He was having trouble keeping his thoughts to himself as it is." People could be disgusting when you were inside their head and they had no clue.
"Only want to hear it twice," Dalila confirmed, face still pressed firmly to the floor. She could hear those vague thoughts about her too and he was mostly right, she did not want him to react. Only at the same time she did. She propped her head up and looked at him, not caring if her eyes were red because he was a were and if he wanted then he could have like, smelled the salt in the tears or whatever. "It's like, perfect... 'all I want, only one, street level miracle'." She kept her head up a moment longer before letting it fall back down. Stupid head, stupid brain and goddamn stupid accident that had messed everything up. Depressing herself had always been something that Dalila was amazingly good at thanks to her water elemental roots, but ever since the accident she had been even better at it. Was it really that hard to believe that she would have been fine leaving her telepathy more muted than on if she could have kept on hearing? It could practically be an even trade! Okay, no, she needed to stop thinking and just listen to Rico's head. Even if he caught onto why the song was making her feel things she had not been expecting then he could still listen better than her and she could catch the feel of the music through him. She needed to remember to thank their parents for making sure to have a were-shark first. Good hearing was - when not being envied - highly useful. "It's a good song, though, I need to remember it."
