Lux always had a hard time believing in promises she knew it wasn't up to those who made them to keep. Such as Troy promising nothing bad was going to happen. Not if it depended on him, she knew that, but it didn't. On the other hand he really was doing everything in his power to make sure she relaxed, and Lux felt about as loved as she could feel. It was a blessing she didn't know how to respond to...much like the fact that she seemed to be developing some serious feelings for Troy out of the blue, even if progressively at the same time.
"I should think so, my face isn't exactly pretty." It might have been before, but now it was maimed by some beast's claws and to Lux it could never be anything other than slightly off-putting. She snuggled up to Troy a little more, sighing. "I'm sorry, it's not your fault and I shouldn't be grumbling about it to you as if it was." And then he said it again, and Lux wasn't ready to say it back yet, but she smiled. After they kissed she leaned her forehead against his, closing her eyes. "Just steer clear if things get ugly, okay? You have no idea what it would do to me to hurt you." She still thought she might, however, even if not physically. That was the nagging feeling always present at the back of Lux's head.
