With a chuckle, Troy brought his hands together at heart's center, like people did in yoga, bowing a little. "Thanks. Some days are better than others, of course. Hopefully things are doing better between them." As much as he loved talking about Reggie, he could sense that there was some sort of profound change in the way that Lux was acting towards him and it was highly distracting. Her smiles came easier, and there was less of an awkward or tense edge to the way they talked together. Maybe that had everything to do with Troy's attempt at relaxing more around her -- it didn't really make sense for him to feel so uptight around her. It felt like it wasn't too much to hope when it came to wanting to actually have a real relationship with her. A friendship was one thing; the chemistry they had together was enough to make the thought of actually dating her something he could hope for. And it seemed very much like Lux was warming up to the idea, too. Really, that was all that Troy needed to keep his smile where it was. That, and the fact that Lux leaned so easily against him when he pulled her close. He breathed in deep, loving the way that her hair and her skin smelled. He squeezed her a little closer, both arms wrapping around her so he could hold her properly. "I'm glad you came over."
Something about the way she spoke his name had an edge of urgency to it, and Troy pulled away just the slightest bit so he could see her face. And then Lux was pulling away too, her body trembling. The smile on Troy's face slid straight away, replacing with a look of concern. What was going on? When Lux couldn't meet his eyes any longer, Troy frowned a bit, listening to everything she said. He waited for her to finish what it was she wanted to say, his heart going out to her. He took a moment to think about it, and while it was a surprise, it also made a lot of sense. It explained a great many things: the way she'd withdrawn from everyone for so long, how she'd reacted to him seeing her scars and even the way she'd gotten upset at biting his neck. Everything clicked into place and Troy knew he would need to say something so Lux wasn't losing her mind waiting for his reaction. Instead of speaking, he took a step towards her until he was close enough to pull her back in his arms. His lips found the top of her head, his hands moving over her back in a soothing way. Pulling away so she could see his face clearly, Troy gave her a very soft smile. "It explains a lot." His arms squeezed her tighter, not wanting her to feel like he would let her go -- not for anything. "But just because you're a bitten were doesn't mean I want you to leave or anything so irrational. You're still you." Troy took a breath and held it, looking for the right words. "What you have to understand about me is that this changes nothing, Lux. I meant what I said about how I feel about you." His smile grew just the slightest bit. "I love you, claws and all." Really, if anything, Troy was only curious about what sort of cat she turned into -- didn't bitten weres take a similar form to the thing that attacked them?
