Closing walls and ticking clocks
Who: Cameron and Kiara
When: 5:30 p.m.
Where: Local museum
Cameron didn't often go to museums. He didn't often go anywhere other than his office, his father's, city hall or home. With the occasional restaurant for dinner with Amanda or a colleague tossed in. A lot of people around his age went to bars and other such places often, but Cameron hadn't ever been quite normal. Well, not in that. When it came to his blood and pedigree he was every bit as normal as everyone else and would kindly thank everyone to keep it firmly in mind. If they needed to be reminded then he would just point out how very absent he had been from that ridiculous march in Ann Arbor. The one that had ended in tragedy. Now, Cameron may not have set any of the explosives himself, but he was quite pleased with the outcome. They'd all deserved it either by being what they were or by supporting other people being such freaks of nature. He'd state that opinion too. He'd have to include something about how, of course, he was sad for the loss of life that had occurred and some other such nonsense that would be known as nothing more than the political babble it was, but he'd say it. His father wouldn't stand for him not to and, grown and married or not, Cameron knew better than to get on his father's bad side.
But today, instead of going straight home or stopping somewhere for a drink, Cameron had decided to stop by the museum he had never set foot in before. Why? He wanted to look at something beautiful before he had it destroyed for him. If vampires could be fashion designers or politicians and little girls could be evil creatures with tails then who was to say that a witch hadn't created the most beautiful paintings or a were hadn't spent time sculpting? Cameron would rather appreciate art, something he'd had a passing interest in during college, before they destroyed that too.
He had debated calling Amanda to see if she wanted to join him, but had decided at the last minute that he would just stay for a half hour or so before heading home. She'd probably had a busy day at work and wouldn't want to anyhow. Do museums have gift shops? They'd always seemed to when he was a kid. I'll buy her something and surprise her with it. Cameron ran a hand through his head to shed off the excess water from the rain and headed for the section dedicated to photography. Photos were always interesting to look at.
