While there were the regular, non-demonic people that Daniel enjoyed having in church because it meant that he was giving that extra little twist to the world, there were also the demons. And Daniel truly thought them to be necessary because they helped to make the church even more of an abomination than it was simply by having him as the pastor. And, like everyone, he played favorites. His current favorite was a certain nine-year-old brunette Demon of Fear whose family attended pretty much every service. Daniel had often spent time wondering about his fellow Demons of Vice and why none of them seemed to look like they were going to make a person do things they probably did not want to. Briony, for a perfect example, did not look like the sort of person who was going to make little goosebumps of fear chase themselves all over your flesh while your mind started conjuring up interesting things that were likely not even there. Which was undoubtedly why she was such a delight to have among his little flock.
Speaking of the devil, there she was. Daniel excused himself from the terribly boring story he was being told by a man whose name he knew but was not recalling currently, and tilted his head around to see behind himself where Briony had stashed herself. For no particular reason that he knew of unless she was engaging in a game of hide-and-seek with the other children. Doubtful; he did not think that he had ever seen them all play together harmoniously. There were just a few of them that were a little too off for that. Case-in-point: Briony Fells. Satu Niemi as well, when she was there, but she was classed in a different age group. "Hello there, Briony," Daniel greeted with a smile. For all that her could feel tell-tale little prickles on his arms he was not concerned. He had dealt with worse than a pint-sized Demon of Fear in his time. "Ahhh, so that's what I was hearing. Yes, I heard that. I also saw the look that you were getting." He was pretty sure an attempt at a lecture might have been made as well, but it was just fact that that would have failed. A human could not successfully lecture a demon child. "Having fun at school yet?"
