without you I'm just lost, incomplete Who: Isaiah and Winifred Where: the Williamson' household When: late morning, just before noon
It went without saying that today was a much better day. The doctor had finally declared Winifred stable enough to be sent home. Home. The word had a completely different meaning for her now. It wasn't the same place she always thought of -- seeing as that place was tainted with such horrible memories. No, home to her now meant the Williamsons. Heaven forbid something happened to estrange her from her newly found foster family. Winifred really had no idea what she would do if -- no, that wasn't a good thought to have. As hard as it was to hold onto a particular thought, the least she could do was think of happy things. That meant forgetting the phone call with her father had even happened. No, today was a much better day, evidenced by the stack of movies next to the t.v., and the mound of blankets she was currently wrapped up in. Oh, and the fact that she was currently waiting on Isaiah to finish the popcorn. Popped over the stove, of course. He really hadn't needed to take the day off to spend it with her, but she appreciated it all the same. Being in his family's house always made her feel safe, even if she wasn't in the right state of mind to be able to feel the wards, she knew they were there. That was better than a hospital room any day.
It was easy for Winifred to close her eyes and drift off, slipping away from the pain in her head to a place where it wasn't so sharp. Whatever they'd put in her drip was much more potent in that form; the pain meds they had given her took the edge off her pain, but it was still there, like a shadow. Too bad there was a spell that would just erase all of it as if it had never been. Winifred knew that it was draining to perform magic, and she really didn't feel comfortable asking for more than Isaiah's family had already done. In time, she would heal, and for now, she would just need to let herself relax. Provided she didn't sleep through the movie marathon Isaiah had promised her. It wouldn't do to fall asleep during something she'd asked for.
