Lauren had a point. Given how soaked they were, it was unlikely they would dry off by the time they were done eating. Jackson's expression show clear agreement on that point before he glanced around and then followed her into the diner. The scent of food struck him at once, cooking meats and oils and other assorted aromas, and he felt more than heard his stomach growl. He really was hungry, it seemed, and he simply hadn't noticed until now. Shedding his jacket and draping it over the back of an empty chair within easy reach.
"Transplant?" Jackson smiled a little at that choice of word. With a small shrug that bordered on non-committal, he went on to say, "I just got in a few days ago. I'm not sure how long I'll be staying."
