Today is where your book begins Who: Kiley and Mason Where: Kiley's house --> Drive in When: Evening
Kiley couldn't lie and say she wasn't looking forward to having a proper date night with her boyfriend. Granted, this was supposed to have been on her birthday, two days earlier, but given everything that happened, putting this off for a few days was beyond understandable. It let Kiley fuss over Corwin a little and make sure her brother really was okay, no matter how many times he insisted that, no, he was fine and she needed to stop worrying about it already. She couldn't help it, it was her right as a big sister and the fact that Corwin was pack damn it. No one, not even crazy-ass bombers, laid a hand on her pack, and that level of possessiveness was something she was still getting used to, no matter how long it had been since she'd been turned.
Having gotten out of work a touch early, the end of the shift flying by fast after Telyn had stopped by, Kiley headed on home to get ready for the night. She spent damn near an hour staring at her closet, trying to figure out what to wear. Mason had been cryptic, saying only that it was a surprise, what they were doing that night. Though he did not, however, point out that she needed to dress up for it, which had the redhead breathing a sigh of relief. Honestly, if there was one thing Kiley failed at, it was fashion, and there were times when she wondered if she didn't look good enough to be seen on Mason's arm. Her nerd shirts were comfy, damn it! Finally she picked out a top she hoped he'd like, along with a cardigan. Just because Mason had seen all of her scars before didn't mean she liked to show them off, especially out in public. No. Just no.
She could hear the car pull up to the house first, even from all the way upstairs in her bedroom. It was more a question of which car he brought, considering that his collection put most to shame, including her poor little Blazer out in front. It had her grinning as Kiley made her way downstairs, just in time to hear that knock on the door, catching the scent that went with it. Mason was here.
