These past few days had been a real nightmare as far as Selena was concerned. She had been so busy she hadn't even had time to deal with having met her granddaughter properly. And what a situation to meet your only living descendant in, really. Not that it wasn't sort of ironic that they had met each other while trying to save lives, but the way things went these days didn't lend itself to heartwarming family reunions. Maybe once everything calmed down.
Selena had just been trying to help sort out more dead and injured brought in from the site, and she really needed a break. Heck, she could hardly keep her eyes open at the moment - no healing magic made up for some good old caffeine. She was making her way to the one vending machine she knew wasn't depleted of resources yet when a small child almost bumped into her. That managed to wake Selena up for a few seconds, at least. She regarded the sandwich on the plate and reminded herself that she was an angel, and therefore she shouldn't roll her eyes at a child or tell her to go away.
But there was something else there too, and Selena only noticed when she allowed herself to answer with something other than an insult. "It looks like heaven right now, that's what it looks like." She said distractedly. Ohhhh there it is, she finally realized. The little girl was demonic blooded. Of course. Only a demon-spawn would bother a hard-working person to ask about a half-eaten sandwich, for crying out loud.
Giving the girl a very forced smile, Selena started to walk around her to the mirage that was a non-empty coffee machine.
