He could tell that having to wait bothered her, as did his reaction to everything, but it was Naoki, and it wasn't like he could hide his feelings to save his life. Yes, he would always be grateful for Liliya bringing him here, for helping him open Shizuka, which in turn allowed him to support his family in Brazil. Well, hopefully support them, right now he was sure he was barely managing to pay Rei's medical bills. His baby sister, in a coma thanks to the demons.... You can't think about this now. Naoki wasn't happy. Surely, Liliya was aware of that. And surely she didn't give a shit about it either. Perhaps if they once they were home, her mood would be better. If Naoki could help with that, he would. Probably with his blood, but at least it would be something.
Naoki did know better than to help her up into the wheelchair, though he would have gladly offered his assistance, and it wasn't exactly easy for him to watch. He couldn't help it, it was the angelic blood in him wanting to help and make everything better. It wasn't like he could make Liliya's leg grow back any faster, or tell the reporters or whatever was waiting for them outside of the hospital to leave her alone. Besides, Liliya probably had a speech all set up for that already. 'I understand.' It wasn't like he couldn't step away from Shizuka for a bit if he had to, and everyone knew who he was married to and what happened by now. The spotlight wasn't on him anywhere near as much as it was on her, but it was still there regardless. He did his best to ignore it.
'And the plants are doing lovely. You'll find that the house is all in order for you.' In truth, it had given Naoki something to do in those hours when he didn't want to be thinking about the bombing and how shaken up he was over it. Keeping busy was better than nothing, he told himself. Perhaps, depending on what Liliya's schedule ended up being, he could reach out to Troy and meet up with him for lunch or something. He'd have to see how things fell into place. 'Anything else here that you need?'
