The little tug of Liliya's truly was unnecessary, for Naoki was already on his way. Having woken up early, as per his usual routine, his only plans for the day were to bring Liliya home from the hospital and be sure she was settled in with everything she needed. It was his duty as a husband... somewhat. Naoki had no doubt she'd just want his blood and then for him to leave her alone, which he could also do. The truth was, Naoki did care about Liliya, and worried for her. Whether or not her leg would grow back - the fact that his wife was technically undead - didn't matter. It was simply in Naoki's nature to help out whenever he was needed, and even he knew that Liliya was bound to take even more advantage of that than she normally did.
He'd been there when it happened, after all, her losing her leg. Those images, like the ones from his childhood on the streets of Rio, would be burned in his memory forever now. Perhaps it was better that he'd only seen everything, not heard it all, too. Naoki tried not to acknowledge it as he drove, but it was still there.
It wasn't hard to find Liliya's hospital room, considering that, yes, he was recognized by staff as the politician's husband. Naoki only smiled - a little one, not a real one - and gave them a small bow as one of the nurses opened the door for him. He was sure Liliya wouldn't be happy to see him, not really, but that didn't stop him from at least being nice to her. 'Sorry to keep you waiting,' he signed to her, still not used to the sight of her in that bed. Without her leg. 'All set to go? Everything is set back home for you. And I know Snowball will be anxious to see you.' His familiar had been asking after Liliya all weekend, wanting to know if she was okay. Naoki didn't have a real answer for that, truth be told. He supposed it was all a matter of perspective.
