"Oh. Well I just wondered because that's what happened to my last family." Bubbles couldn't remember what it was like to be completely without a family. She'd had her actual parents for awhile and then she'd had her agent, who was practically like family until she'd needed to kill him, and then she'd gone from family to family being just the right level of adorable and cute to win them over for a few years. If Briony didn't grow up then maybe she'd do the same thing. "So you were a foster bratling, that has to have been fun. But aren't the Fells lucky to have gotten you." Bubbles grinned when her horns were complimented. "Yeah they are, my tail's the same color and so are my wings. But I can't show you those here. People would see and freak out. Can't scare the little ones all at once." Having eyes that flashed colors would be pretty cool though. Definitely unsettling. Just like everything about Briony was unsettling, but that was just because she was the Demon of Fear. And Bubbles already knew exactly what she was afraid of -- big Familiars that she couldn't control. "You go to church? That's insane, you should pitch a fit. I can't count how many times I've passed out from holding my breath when they tried to drag me." Holy places weren't fun.
Bubbles pouted a little when Briony said she hadn't seen Cujo. "You'll have to come over for a sleepover and watch with me. Freak my aunt and uncle out, too, they won't get me a dog so they deserve it." Bubbles resumed skipping along the hopscotch, but this time when she was coming back she turned around and did it backwards. If anyone had been watching then they'd probably have wondered how she did it without looking. Bubbles was really just that familiar with the course. "Rachel and Paul. Good names. My aunt is Suzy and my uncle's Matt." Bubbles was just glad she didn't get stuck with cousins this time around. Kids could always be worse than the adults because they had a bad habit of seeing everything and they weren't all disbelieving. Sometimes it made it better, yeah, but sometimes it made it worse too. "Airla's a stupid name." Might as well agree. "If you keep growing then maybe you'll be able to move onto a different school before they figure it out. Me, I have to move a lot, but that's fine. Places get boring after a few years. This is the very first time I've met a demon-child who wasn't me." Bubbles frowned thoughtfully. "I think most just keep growing. I don't think they want to stay kids." Bubbles? Had wanted it. She was cute and adorable and a film star at the time, why wouldn't she want it? Kids could literally get away with murder without even being suspected. "But it's perfect. Like a really awesome sort of Peter Pan. Without the fairy dust."
