"Why not? Kids are supposed to have friends. It'd make my aunt feel better if she thought I had some." If anything actually made her aunt feel better. Bubbles didn't think anything actually did since the woman still spent most of her time facedown in a bottle, alcohol or pills didn't matter. "It's not like they know. They wouldn't know if I flattened my curls and flashed them my pretties." Her horns. Bubbles was very proud of her horns and sometimes, like right then, she wondered if they'd have gotten bigger if she'd kept growing. "That and I don't make people feel all creeped out just by coming close. That's your specialty." It was sort of nice to not give that off, she supposed. If she did then she wouldn't be able to have near as much fun. But it'd be fun in its own way to inspire fear. Weres wouldn't be as much fun, or the family dog. I wouldn't be able to drive them insane. Bubbles was fine being what she was, she didn't want to be anything else. Nothing else would've been as much fun for this long.
Bubbles glanced over to where Briony had motioned. He didn't like spiders? Spiders could be so much fun! Just like all animals could be fun. She'd never get the people who were afraid of them. Unless they were one of her animals and then absolutely everyone should be afraid of them because they were probably going to go for their jugular at any moment. "There's a girl somewhere and she's afraid of dogs. One bit her when she was even littler and now she thinks they're all going to try. They had the dog that bit her put down." Bubbles pout wasn't exaggerated or made up. She really didn't like it when they killed animals that had hurt people. That was what they were really, really good at! "If you get a puppy you'll have to let me play with him." It wasn't a question. She wasn't going to say anything about a familiar either. She didn't like them and just didn't understand why demons needed them. No one needed them. The world had been perfectly fine without them! "Okay, Fear, that was gonna be my guess. And you're really nine. Huh. Well I'll be blessed." Because she was definitely already damned. "Oh, I'm only nine too. I've just been nine for... seventy-two years, I think. I'm glad too, because I like this body." She gave a little twirl and giggled. "It's ever so much more fun to play."
