So I'm picking up the pieces, now where to begin Who: Kiley and Telyn Where: Starbucks When: Late morning
Though the bombing was a few days ago, the idea of going back to "normal" life wasn't sitting well with Kiley. Not that she'd been present for the march - she'd been at Mason's when it happened, and with it went all of her birthday plans. Mason, being a police officer, had of course gone to help, and then there was the fact that Corwin had actually been there when the bombs went off. Her little brother was okay, nothing more than superficial wounds, but the fact still remained that her brother had almost died and there would have been nothing Kiley could have done to stop it. Corwin was the only family she had left, and naturally she was going to be protective of him. He was pack, after all, and he was the only one who knew everything she'd been through. Mason was starting to understand, but that wasn't something that happened overnight.
Perhaps it was better than she was at work the morning, because work meant that there was less of a chance of her letting her mind wander too too much. There were drinks to make and coffee to brew and the morning rush was enough to keep her focused. Plus, Mason had promised they'd done something tonight, since they never got a chance to do something for her birthday. What exactly that would be, she didn't know yet, but it was Mason, so her boyfriend would think of something. Kiley didn't care so long as she got to spend some time with him, because at the end of the day that mattered more to her than the rest of it combined.
She'd just put on a fresh batch of coffee when she noticed who the blonde woman in line was. "Hey Telyn," she said, giving her a wave. She didn't know the other girl well, at least, not outside of Starbucks, but they always managed to chit chat whenever she came in. "How's it going?"
