At Lux's question, Troy just nodded, not really sure what he had been trying to say at all. "Yes, well..." That they were even was one thing. Troy still just didn't know where that left them. And really, he was usually better at hiding certain things than this. He'd been at least good enough to hide the way he felt all this time, right? But no, now that he'd told Lux, he felt like it'd be a lie if he hid what he felt now. Even if it was more leaning towards those baser feelings, like Lux had said before. Troy chalked it up to the fact that Lux was it for him. The one that he would never say no to. The one that he couldn't help but think about for more time than he cared to keep track of. And yes, the one that he was mentally undressing at the moment because he couldn't stop himself. He had it bad, and he was sure that there wasn't anything wrong with that. If there was, he was incapable of caring.
Just something about the way they kept repeating the same word had Troy laughing again, his smile going crooked. Was it any fault of his that Troy watched, intently, as Lux leaned down to grab an apple. Even the slight peek of skin at her stomach when her shirt rode up had him distracted. Apples, damn it. Focus. Now, Troy had never really thought of eating apples as a sexy thing. Apples were hard, and the sound they made when you bit down on them was loud. Not sexy. That was, until he'd seen Lux take a bite. Troy swallowed, a nervous reaction to the fact that there was still something about this that said that they weren't just talking about apples. When she offered the apple to him, Troy paused for a moment, looking back and forth between her face and the fruit. Slowly, as if his body had a mind of its own, he leaned down to take a bite of the apple without taking it from her hand. Lux was right, it was delicious! Really, how could something he loved be anything less than the perfect mixture of sweet and tangy? His eyes hadn't left Lux's face, though, and he was sure that there was something else he'd rather do.
And it had nothing to do with apples. With a strange sort of sound that was part scoff and part growl, Troy grabbed the apple from Lux's hand and tossed it lightly over his shoulder. He leaned down the rest of the way, bridging that blasphemous space between them so he could kiss her, his hands pulling her close. If there was a heaven, it was Lux and apple-flavored.
