There was no telling who would end up with the upper hand in this situation, which of the two would come out of this better off than the other, and right then Jackson just didn't care, just as he couldn't have cared less about the fact that it might have seemed a little crude to tackle his opponent, but he couldn't very well shift in full view of the public, not with how some people felt about weres, or even supernaturals in general. It would have felt more natural, fighting in that form, but given their location, this would have to do.
He had taken the other male by surprise, that much was clear, and there was no immediate retaliation beyond the pushing against his shoulders, and Jackson took the opportunity presented to him, lifting up enough to use his free hand in order to swing a punch down and into the other wolf's face. Again, crude, but he felt provoked and challenged, and that meant he was going to lash out, regardless of just how many people were beginning to take notice of the clash on the sidewalk.
