The road is now a sudden sea Who: Jackson and Troy Where: the woods near Scarlet Oak When: after sunset
Troy was quite happy. There were not many days when his spirits stayed as high as they had been, and today he was enjoying his entry into the stratosphere of contentedness. He was normally a more mellow person, but today his day had been filled with singing and dancing and clowning around with his sister. And bragging, just a little bit. He was sure that Lux knew that he would tell his best friend, and Tessa was definitely that. He'd have to make a point to visit Naoki to break the news, too. He missed his closest friend, but it seemed to always present a challenge getting Naoki past his dragon-lady of a wife. A thought for another time, perhaps, seeing as the train of thought headed down when Troy only wanted to keep his mood up. He'd had so much excess energy, he'd thought that taking a walk would help. He'd dressed in some workout clothes just in case he wanted to jog a little bit, if he felt like it. The sun was passing down below the treeline when he entered the woods proper, his sneakers making little nose on the grass interspersed with foliage. Today was the perfect day to surround himself with his element, to celebrate the turn his life had taken--for the better, naturally. Lux would always be in his life, but now it meant so much more. At least it did to Troy.
He was so lost in thought; his head was turned inward away from the nearby road, looking out into the forest in the dim light. He turned around just in time to spot a truck that was pulled over to the side of the road. Troy immediately cocked his head to the side. Had someone broken down? The hazard lights weren't on and the hood wasn't up, so perhaps it was just someone enjoying the woods? It was a little dark for that, but he wasn't one to judge, seeing as he was doing the exact same thing. "Hello?" His voice was met with the silence of the woods as he walked up. He didn't see anyone inside the cab of the truck so he looked about, hoping he wasn't just speaking to the air like an idiot. Though, he probably was. He shrugged lightly to himself and turned about, blinking a bit in the fading light.
