In those moments, Bella could have easily been knocked over with one of Flora's itty bitty feathers. For one thing, Satu was acting like a normal child. Naturally, this served to amp Bella's guilt even further. She was now pretty sure the stress had just caused her to act that way, and Bella felt terrible for rushing to such a poor judgment. All the same, when her mother moved towards her, there had been an instant when Bella was sure she was about to be slapped. The hug had her blinking in surprise. And then, of course, turning red.
"Oh, no... don't be sorry. But, well, I didn't really do much," Bella replied, feeling rather lame. "I'm sorry to hear she's still in the hospital." Not terribly surprised though. That wound had been pretty gruesome. She smiled softly as she looked down to Satu. 'Huh. She doesn't look like the antichrist,' Flora murmured to Bella. 'Then again, the dark prince takes many forms.' Bella was oh so glad no one else heard that. She mentally shushed her familiar. "At least your mom has you to keep her sane, huh?" She shifted slightly in her stool, feeling rather unprofessional for not rising. "I hope she recovers quickly. Is there anything in particular you two are looking for?"
