Simon knew that face. It was Lux's "don't fuck with me" face and he didn't see it all that often. He knew what it meant, though. "Seemed being the key word here," he pointed out. Yes, Simon was a fair bit more intelligent than most people figured, considering how much of a dork he was. He still had his vices though, and he liked to think they weren't as bad as they could be, all things considered. "You have nothing to worry about, mon amie, I'm not going to drag you down with me. I'll be fine." He thought, anyway. Whatever, it wasn't like he'd overdone it before, though he was a lot better since he left college.
"I know. Still wish every day that I'd gotten full custody." That had Simon slugging down more of his beer. If not for Tabitha, he'd never have to deal with Jolene again, but he did because she was Tabitha's mother and he didn't want to deny his kid the right to know her. He didn't have to like her though, and that was where he drew the line. Just because his love life was a giant black hole now didn't mean he'd ever consider taking Jolene back. Hell no - he had standards, damn it, and they were higher now than it had been when he and Jolene first met.
Okay, so something was definitely not fine here, and Simon leaned back against the couch, listening to what Lux had to say. "Yeah, I texted Troy this morning, he mentioned that you'd watched that," he said. But what came next? Okay, yeah, it had been kind of obvious that Troy always had a bit of a crush on Lux. Not that Simon could necessarily blame him, Lux was an awesome woman, even when she couldn't see that much in herself. "Ooooooh shit son!" He didn't know if he was supposed to laugh or give her a high five or what. Wasn't Troy the 29-year-old virgin? "There's no sort of, you totally did! Oh man..." He finally managed a laugh, covering his mouth with one hand. "No wonder why he sounded happy this morning." Duh. Troy had gotten laid! That was a big deal. "Um, should I congratulate you two or..."
