It was to Simon's credit that he managed not to wince, nor reach up to touch his head again, where he knew the bandage was. Of course Lux was going to worry about him, they'd been best friends since forever and that was just what best friends did. "...They let me go home," he said, only a little defensively. "They didn't say I couldn't, does that count?" Hey, it worked out in Simon's head. But then again, he was also the guy who thought that a little weed and a couple beers never hurt anyone, considering that he never did outgrow his college partying days. They'd just been on hold for a while due to the fact that he'd once been married to a bitch.
Simon threw his hands up. "That's fucking Jolene for you, only thinks about herself. I'd offered to take Tabitha back here for this week... but you know how well that went over." Shit, Simon didn't even dare go near his ex's house if he wasn't about to pick up his daughter, and often Jolene dropped Tabitha off at Cosmic Comics rather than actually bring her to the apartment. Whatever worked, it wasn't like he wanted to see her, either. But he knew - knew - that right now it would be better for Tabitha to be with him now. At least he understood what it was like to be a psychic.
He took a few sips of his beer and glanced over at Lux. "Oh?" It wasn't like Troy and Lux had never hung out before, so it wasn't like Simon was particularly concerned about that. "Again, sorry I made you two worry, I got my phone fixed as soon as I could." There was something else behind the story, though, and he watched Lux's face. "And.... what happened?"
