Stay with me. Baby, stay with me.
Who: Telyn and Adam
Where: Adam's house
When: not long after midnight
What: It's been a super long, no good, very bad day
The bombing was something she'd never expected to happen in her little corner of the world and then all hell had broken loose. She finally was sent back to the fire house, where she scrubbed and scrubbed. Though she'd been wearing her gear and gloves all day, she felt like it was everywhere. She felt like Lady Macbeth, unable to wash it all away. It was funny what thoughts passed through a person's mind when they were so exhausted, so shell-shocked, so drained. She was grateful when Adam answered her text message. Part of her was hoping he'd be awake, that she could see him and just let him soothe away the day. Maybe that was a little selfish of her but she had seen more death and chaos that day than she ever wanted to see in a lifetime.
And there was the little fact that she had met her grandmother that day as well. That wasn't something she'd expected at all. Telyn wished it meant the day had been a better one but there was so much going on that she felt she'd barely gotten to know the woman to whom she was related. She seemed nice enough, focused when she needed to be. And the way Jonas looked at her made the blonde elemental know that their relationship was one of great love. She wanted that kind of love, which was something she felt a granddaughter should think of her grandparents.
Telyn parked her car in front of Adam's house, Lucky getting out after her without his usual bounce. She had her sweatshirt over her arm, not even sure why she'd brought it. Probably cause what she was wearing was the only thing in her locker at the station. It didn't matter to her what she was wearing because she knew Adam didn't care. Didn't stop her from running her fingers through her still semi-damp curls as she walked up to his door, raising her hand to knock and resting on her heels for him to open the door.
