All this time, Troy had hoped against hope that he could change her mind, if only just a little bit. But still, she resisted the idea that he would react in any way but the one she expected. He could be patient though; he was quite willing to reassure her in any way she needed, even if it was something simple as just his continued presence in her life. "Say what you will, but I like the odds." Troy knew himself enough to know that whatever she had to say would have to monumental to shake his opinion. "Then don't worry about it. And don't force it until you're ready. You know I will be patient." That was basically like Troy's middle name, patience. "Anytime."
Just holding her in his arms made Troy the happiest he had probably ever been since opening his dojo, or since gaining his mastery. He couldn't fathom just how any way he'd felt before could compare to how it felt to finally kiss Lux, to show her how much he cared about her and wanted her. Her lips were so soft and he couldn't seem to kiss her enough, to get close enough. Even the little quip she said about not regretting things yet couldn't dampen his spirits. He was breathless and happy, and he barely broke away from her enough to chuckle at the silliness of the idea that there could be anything he would ever regret. "No matter what might happen, it's worth it. You're worth it." And before she could protest, he was kissing her lips again, his mouth moving to her cheeks, her forehead. Any part of her face that he could reach, he planted light kisses to her skin. His mouth found hers again and he made a happy sound in his throat as he kissed her. It dimly occurred to him that he should probably be thinking about how it was that they were going to find Simon, since no amount of kissing in the world could make them both forget about how worried they were. But for the moment, Troy just wanted to lose himself in the taste of Lux's mouth, and the scent of her skin.
