Lux's reaction to the flowers' smell was so odd that she didn't even respond to Troy's question about whether they were too strong. In fact, she looked away, ignoring the question outright. "Well looks like you know more about it than I do. If you say it'll be good I believe you." She smiled.
In the hug, Lux noticed Troy's smell more than usual. Really it might have been because she hadn't really hugged anyone since the accident, or it might be some other reason that Lux didn't want to acknowledge, let alone think about. It was lovely, made her feel at home somehow. She didn't want to look like she was sniffing him out but the truth was for the duration of their embrace, Lux kept her eyes closed to better use her other senses. Then, when he said that he'd had it better than most Lux realized how happy she actually was that he had gotten away with only a few cuts and bruises. That Simon's phone wasn't working was bad enough.
"Uh, no, they were rerunning Seinfeld earlier." Lux shrugged, setting the movie up to start. "But I figured this type of comedy might be a bit more up our alley right now." Except while the movie unfolded all that weed smoking did was remind her of Simon. And how she still had no idea where or how he was. After a while, Lux was full-on tapping her feet on the floor at the same rhythm as she tapped her fingers on the remote.
