The brunette sticking her tongue out made Renee laugh so much she sort of choked - her self control and movements not being what they used to be when sober, after all. Once Renee was all done coughing she took another swig of her scotch, which was running dangerously low at the moment. She held the bottle out to the blonde vampire. "You still feel taste right? That ought to be good enough."
While the brunette seemed to work towards answering the burning question about what she was, Renee and the vampire watched. "Oh, so she actually is mute." She whispered at the blonde vampire. "Up to this point I thought the non-speaking thing was part of her...uh...pathology." Shrugging, Renee went back to watching the brunette draw. When she held the notebook up Renee almost fell off the bench leaning forward to see what she had drawn. A mermaid. "A mermaid! Holy...wow. Really? That's amazing." Renee offered the mermaid - holy crap! - a grin. "I hadn't met a mermaid before. Do you have a name?" Then she turned to the vampire. "Or a vampire. Hi, I'm Renee." She held out her hand at the blonde.
Reading the line the mermaid added underneath made her laugh again. "She's sort of right, but I think on days like this I'm willing to make an exception." Renee looked up at the mermaid. "It also makes you numb, of body and mind. And I need a bit of numbness today. But don't worry, I can hold my liquor. I'll have a headache in the morning, at worst." To signal her lack of worry about the alcohol, Renee raised it to the mermaid and the vampire and then took another swig.
