Who: Jameson and Hannah
When: 11:37 and on
Where: The pile of rubble formerly known as a Broadway bridge
Hannah hadn't really intended to go to the march - she thought peaceful marches did basically shit-all to get the point across, and that was if they managed to stay peaceful the entire time. Usually some anti-whatever group showed up and that was when the shouting match and fireworks really began. Which was more or less why she was there - she wanted to see the inevitable epic supernatural/anti supernatural showdown. It was only by chance that she'd ended up swept into the crowd when they started moving - she'd figured she'd just duck out somewhere around the middle and watch what happened.
That was the plan, anyway.
She was on the bridge, about a quarter of the way across, and bored nearly to tears because no one was yelling yet. Anubis, who'd been quietly leading the way, suddenly gave a soft whine - a sound she'd never heard from him before - and began pushing back against her legs. "What the hell?" she asked rhetorically, being that he was a dog and couldn't answer her. She was in the middle of a crowd and didn't really have time to move back or to the side before a sudden explosion ripped through the air. For Hannah, it was all darkness, split by a sudden deafening roar and blistering heat. Pain and pressure in her ears, and Hannah felt herself lifted and thrown, Anubis' harness torn from her grasp. She hit hard, and everything went black.
She didn't know how much time had passed since she'd gone out, but her guess was that it wasn't long - she could hear screams, shouting, sirens, but it was all fuzzy with a strange, muffled quality to it, wet warmth running down her neck. Hannah shook her head, but immediately regretted the decision when a wave of pain and dizziness assaulted her. Her first thought was for Anubis - was he safe? Where was he? "Anubis?" she called, unable to hear how loud she was, voice hoarse and cracking. "Anubis?"
