I don't wanna be around when it all goes down, to watch something beautiful die Who: Troy, Tessa and Frances Where: down the street from the Broadway Bridge When: Just before 11:37, and then onward
It had taken some convincing, or quite a lot of convincing, to get Tessa to come along with him to help out with the march. Troy wasn't all about actually walking in the march itself, but there were plenty of other ways to help out. Standing by the table stacked with case upon case of bottles of water for the marchers, Troy smiled and handed out as much water as he could to the people walking past. It wasn't much, but it made him feel like he was helping without jeopardizing his business. Sure, not everyone would be against him teaching their children if people understood what elementals were, but he didn't want to take that chance. His dojo was his livelihood, and he didn't want to lose that. He glanced over to where his sister was at a different table, smiling to himself as he watched her. She loved people, so he really was sure that she would at least try to enjoy herself. Turning back to a voice close by, he ripped the plastic open on a new case of water, setting the empty one aside. Walking in this heat could be dangerous if people weren't properly hydrated, so Troy was quite eager to make sure everyone was looked after. He was passing over a bottle of water to a young man when the world tipped on its side into chaos.
The ground rumbled and Troy turned to where, not far off, the Broadway Bridge exploded. Before he could even think he was moving, running over to where Tessa was standing. Without saying a word he pushed her to the ground behind the table she had been working at. He nearly tackled her in his rush to bodily cover her in case there were any flying debris that came their way. Did it occur to him that she would be alright if the blast was in any way fire-related? Not at all. The only thought he had in his mind at the moment was keeping her safe. A series of other explosions went off and he moved so that his arms completely shielded Tessa's head from anything that might come flying at them. There was no way he was going to let anything happen to her if he could help it.
