Maddie let out her best wolf-whistle when she saw her friend. "Hey!" she said by manner of greeting and walked up to Bonnie. "You look like you're on the prowl," she added with a tease. When Maddie heard there was a fire show in town, she'd had to go. In fact, South Hamilton Street was one of the first things she'd gone to. She'd been so fascinated by Bonnie, she went again. Finally, she'd waited around to see if she could talk to her after one of her shows. It'd been a pretty immediate friendship between them. Both pretty fiery (no pun intended) and also fire elementals, it had been pretty easy for them to find things in common. While Maddie wouldn't really dream of sleeping over at Bonnie's (partially because Ryan kind of creeps her out) or asking the girl to a knitting party, Bonnie was definitely a lot of fun to go to parties with. Despite the girl's age. Maddie found Bonnie was fairly mature...or Maddie was immature. Either way, they got along.
"I feel under-dressed now," she added as they headed back out of the theater. Maddie had picked pants because dresses were really only for proms and funerals, she found...and because she'd never been to Heme before, she wanted to make sure she could run if she had to. And flat boots were important to that plan. She also thought about Bonnie's comment earlier. "We're fire elementals. I think we have every right to wear red. Besides, I bet half the people there are going to be in either black or red. I don't think we'll stand out particularly. At least we look decent and aren't posing as goths in corsets or something equally costume-y. "Do you mind driving? I think my truck would stick out like a sore thumb." Besides, if either her dad or the dumb llama decided to check for her at Heme, her truck would be a complete giveaway.
