When it's nine in the afternoon Who: Kayla and Troy Where: Red Dragon Dojo When: late afternoon
Troy was definitely the kind of person who understood the virtue of everything in moderation, and he tried to hold to that in every way possible. But even he had his weak moments, and he was currently still feeling the effects of the prior night. Whatever had possessed Troy to try to out-drink his sister was definitely kicking his ass today, and he really had only himself to blame. He rarely ever drank, and when he did it was of course in moderation. Really, what did he think would happen when he went head-to-head with a fire elemental which much more experience in the whole bar scene? Whatever he had thought would happen had not; his entire body had hurt when he woke up, and he definitely didn't need to use his elementalism to figure out the source of his ailments. Thankfully though, he was a master Earth elemental, and so he was gifted in terms of healing. He didn't feel in the slightest like he was abusing his powers to treat his massive hangover. After all, it wasn't as if he could just sleep all day, he had classes to teach. A hearty, greasy breakfast and lots of water soon put him in a much better place than he had been in when his eyes first opened on the way-too-bright sunlight. He was glad; he needed to be at his best for his students.
Since the school semester had started for public schools, most of his classes had shifted later into the afternoon and into the evening. But, for the students that Troy had who's college semester had yet to start, he could still keep to his original schedules. Sure, it made for having to rework a bunch of the classes and instructors, but he was sure everyone would adapt. He was very much looking forward to one of his private lessons, finding that there was much more progress when he got to work with just one person at a time. He loved his classes, and he loved all the different things he taught, but somehow, he felt like teaching self defense was the most important. Sure, you could use each style he taught for self defense, but there was something intense about learning those simple maneuvers that could potentially make the difference between life or death. So long as Kayla had been practicing. In preparation for her lesson, and since she'd studied krav maga, Troy figured she wouldn't mind going back over some simple strikes. If he had to admit it, Troy wasn't nearly at where he needed to be to actually teach her krav maga like she wanted, but he'd actually made the effort to look into it. He figured they could both learn it together, perhaps, or at least parts of it that Troy felt comfortable teaching. He figured since self defense covered a very broad spectrum of techniques, he could just try to touch on all the different things he already knew.
Getting all the necessary equipment ready was a cinch, and Troy began to apply his hand wraps, waiting for Kayla to show up.
