You look like I need a drink Who: Brodie and Jon When: Evening Where: Ozzy's
Jon didn't really get out that much. It wasn't because he didn't want to so much as he didn't take the time to think about where he might want to go before actually going there. That and he it seemed like every time he actually made the effort he ended up getting called in to cover some big story. Here he'd thought that taking the job in a place like Scarlet Oak would mean that he'd have a ton of free time since the most exciting thing that happened in a week was that the Boy Scouts held a blood drive or something. But nope, not the case here. Here they had vampires and weres and demons and snake-monsters that went and got themselves killed and the coverage of that took up the better part of two days. Jon had needed to fight to get away just to make sure that Half-pint had something to eat so that she didn't come busting into town. Last thing he needed was for her to get shot and carted off to some zoo or county way up in the U.P. But that'd really be just his luck.
Tonight, though, tonight he needed a drink to go along with his cigarettes and instead of going through all the effort of getting himself a bottle or a case he'd decided to check out that place that the blond guy he'd met in the woods the other day had recommended. Brodie, that was his name, and he was from Australia the same as -- oh damn, he'd totally forgotten to tell Missy about the place. Eh, I'll do it tomorrow. Or for all he knew Missy already knew about the place, she was a reporter after all, and he'd see her in there. Jon laughed just at the thought of seeing Missy at a a club. He'd seen the woman in her pajamas with her hair such a mess that she'd threatened him with death if he ever told anyone about it, but he just couldn't picture her relaxing anywhere unless she had Kristen in tow. Walking into Ozzy's made him pretty sure that this wasn't the sort of place that Missy would take her sister. It took the redhead a minute, but he finally figured the layout out and headed over to the bar. "Yeeeaaah, I don't even know, just something with a kick. And ice." It'd been too hot a day to go without the ice. While he waited for his drink, Jon turned to survey the crowd and glance up at the band that was playing. A band he didn't recognize which probably meant local. They weren't awful.
