Krist listened to him, picking up that the human was referring to his scars and he felt his heart sink slightly. He knew nobody was missing him, not anymore anyway. Not after he'd been gone from his previous home for so long. There was no way that family was still searching for him, not after what happened to Irene...
He blinked a few times and shifted his weight again, not thrilled about being picked up by somebody else. He didn't want to be taken some place safe, to be put in a stall and expected to stay there. He'd tasted freedom, had owned his own life for too many months at this point to just... give it up easily. He protested the idea loudly, whinnying as he backed away from the truck and from the human that had been petting him only moments ago.
Turning around, Krist debated what to do about the situation. He didn't want to just leave... but he couldn't just change right now... not in front of someone he didn't know anything about.
