Whatever new instincts he might've had, at least chasing after frightened "prey" animals wasn't yet one of them. Because Tayne was definitely getting to know that scent and associating it with fear. He continued making soothing noises as the horse backed up and slowly calmed. "Theeeere we go. That's a good boy. You are a boy, right?" He leaned sideways a bit to try and check. "Yep, boy. What's a handsome fellow like you doing all alone out here? Huh?"
He took a cautious step closer, hands still slightly raised and in full view, still speaking gently and calmly. The stallion was definitely not wild, despite his display of fear. No wild horse would stand there, this close to a potential threat. "I ain't gonna hurtcha, promise," he murmured, taking another cautious step. "Just want a closer look atcha. No halters or rope or nothin'." Though he did have some rope in his truck, he certainly wasn't about to go get it. The horse didn't understand a word of that, he was sure, but it was easier to talk sense than nonsense.
